As I sit one morning overlooking the ocean, the sense of wonder and awe brings me back to my early memories of childhood. I read from my young diary - a poem called, "The First Forest" - and ponder the feeling I had, and still have, of a presence close and near.
“The First Forest”
In this forest where peace was dedicated
And God came down to christen the newborn star,
It still lies here,
That place that God marked
With His compassionate beauty
And His love.
So come if you may
And bring with you love,
So the peace that God left,
Always shall stay.
